Mid-Season: Plaxidental Shooting

Riggins Rigs (5-2)
Where did this powerhouse come charging in from? We were not excited about this team during pre-season but now it's looking fantastic! With five straight wins, the formerly 0-2 team has taken the league by storm. Cam! Cam! Cam! While the rookie has been splendid, there's a lot more going on here too. RB Arian Foster has justified his lofty draft position while free agent pickup Darren Sproles has become a top five back on the strength of his receiving prowess. The running attack doesn't stop there either, as Ahmad Bradshaw has scored enough to be just outside the top ten RBs. This three headed running monster has been chewing up opponents while Hakeem Nicks, Dez Bryant, and Brandon Pettigrew (or Greg Olsen) has been contributing just enough to keep defenses from loading up in the box. As the top scoring team in the league -- a healthy 127.72 ppg -- Andrew should reserve a skybox for the playoffs now, as there's a pretty good chance they'll be strong contenders for the crown.

Optimus Primetime (4-3)
Can you have too many good players on one team? Prior to their trades during the last two weeks, Optimus had two top five RBs (Adrian Peterson, Fred Jackson), five of the top twenty WRs (Mike Wallace, Greg Jennings, Pierre Garcon, AJ Green, DeSean Jackson), and a top three TE (Gronkowski). However, all that talent can't replace a struggling Tony Romo. Looking to find a top QB, Jon moved Garcon for QB Matt Stafford -- who subsequently got banged up. If he can't go, Tim Tebow could be called upon to bring God into the house of Primetime. Also, Jennings and Mike Tolbert were moved for Frank Gore recently. While no longer top of the charts, Jon isn't worried about being there at the Metabo Bowl as his three losses have come when opponents have scored 140+ points each or in the case of WK7, when he didn't play three position players. Gotta give everyone else a chance you know?

Detroit Kittens (4-3)
Losing first round pick Jamaal Charles in WK1 undoubtedly hurt. However, the Kittens pressed on and have won their last two games to steady the ship. They've also thrown up the highest one week score so far this season, 171.12 in WK4. With QB extraordinaire Aaron Rodgers leading the way, Josh has relied on him and TE Jimmy Graham to carry the receiving load. Graham is having a breakout year. That's actually an understatement. Graham is not only the best tight end by far, he's also a top five RB/WR/TE option. That's good because Miles Austin, Anquan Boldin, Brandon Lloyd, and Sidney Rice have been very sub-par. The only other bright light on this squad has been Jahvid Best, who has been healthy enough to almost crack the top ten for running backs. Everyone else on the roster has been underachieving. If the five headed mediocre monster of DeAngelo Williams, Joseph Addai, Pierre Thomas, Felix Jones, and Montario Hardesty don't step up, we're not sure how far Rodgers and Graham can lead this team.

Snake Eyes (2-5)
Facing the second toughest schedule in the league has sunk Ryan's early season. It's hard to imagine that a team featuring Tom Brady can only accumulate two victories but Tom Terrific can't do everything himself I guess. RB Michael Turner has been giving a steady effort but Maurice Jones-Drew has decided that being average suits him just fine. MJD needs to step up his game to help Turner out a little. The receiving game is in a decent spot with Dwayne Bowe, Vincent Jackson, and the newly acquired Pierre Garcon aboard. Bowe and Jackson have better days ahead -- they are notoriously slow starters -- and Garcon may have surpassed Reggie Wayne in Indianapolis. What we can't figure out is why the general manager of this team still has Dallas Clark playing tight end. Clark is maybe the 20th best TE on the board, and without Peyton Manning around he could stay there all season. Pro Tip: Hey Ryan, you could literally pick up any free agent TE right now and get 150% more production. But if you like putting up a league low 55.52 points (last week, with only their DEF on bye), then be my guest!

Dirty Mark Sanchez (2-5)
Raise your hand if you don't know what a "dirty sanchez" is! Okay, nobody nobody? Well if you were too shy to raise your hand, JFGI. With four straight losses and the lowest scoring output in the league, we'd say Randall should be more worried about the contents of his fantasy roster than revelling in suggestive team names. The Dirties don't have a single player who has scored more than 100 fantasy points this season. Everyone else has at least two. With Andre Johnson injured, Philip Rivers stinking up the joint, Roddy White semi-M.I.A., and not one average RB on the roster, this team could be headed even further downhill. And not "go down" in a good way either. Ew, gross. The good news is that there's hope for a turnaround if some of the other veterans like Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, and Jonathan Stewart can pick it up when Rivers and White re-ignite and Johnson returns. Otherwise this could be the team's chant for the rest of the season:
"(We'll) Suck (You) for Luck!"
